About the Prague map

the Vltava's curves through a fairy-tale city

The Vltava does not just flow through Prague; it defines the entire composition of the map. The river curves in a long, lazy S, separating the castle district on the west bank from the Old Town on the east, and bridges stitch the halves together at regular intervals. Charles Bridge sits right at the visual centre.

Prague's street layout is wonderfully organic: a maze of medieval lanes radiating from Old Town Square, streets climbing Petřín hill and winding around the castle. There is nothing gridded about it, and that is what gives a Prague poster its character.

Centre on Charles Bridge with a 3 km radius for a tightly composed poster: Old Town, Lesser Town, the castle and both banks of the Vltava without suburban sprawl.
